How Great Meals Build Even Greater Minds

A child’s diet plays a vital role in their well-being, which can affect their academic performance as well as their joy of learning. At the Youth Life Center we have spent over a decade feeding the bellies and minds of children. Read on to learn more about the power of healthy eating habits for eager young learners.

Healthy Meals Promote Energy and Proper Focus

We all want what is best for our children, and help guide them down the path to success. With inadequate meals throughout the day, however, children can struggle to learn. 1 in 6 children throughout the United States is food insecure. Children experiencing hunger may struggle with behavior concerns both in and outside of the classroom, such as:

  • Needing to repeat a grade in school
  • Having developmental impairments related to language and motor skills
  • Being more likely to exhibit social and behavioral problems

With frequent, healthy meal options, children have the proper nutrition to fuel their growing minds and their play. In addition, healthy foods such as whole grains, fruits, and vegetables help promote good oral health! Sugary snacks and drinks can wear down tooth enamel over time, leading to more frequent dental problems.

Fueling Young Minds at Youth Life Center

Providing a safe and healthy environment for children of the Metro Atlanta area has been our mission for over 10 years. We offer several programs at the Youth Life Center to ensure our kids always have happy memories and happy bellies!

If your child is too old for traditional daycare, but not quite ready to be left alone at home during out-of-school hours, the Youth Life Center may be the right option for you. Through creative expression, performing arts, academic support, and enrichment programs, we help school-age children and teens build character, confidence, and self-esteem.
