A Typical Young Xplorers Afternoon
Every afternoon is purposefully designed — structured enough to nurture, flexible enough to delight.
Children are transported from Riverdale Early Learning Center and welcomed into the YLC environment. Every afternoon begins with a safe, calm arrival.
Young Xplorers enjoy a nourishing meal and time to connect with their peers. Every child is fed before enrichment begins.
Children participate in martial arts, music, movement, creative expression, or another guided enrichment experience led by professional YLC instructors.
Children engage in age-appropriate play, building, imaginative activities, storytelling, art, movement, or hands-on discovery — because four-year-olds learn through play.
Guided interactions help children practice sharing, cooperation, communication, friendship, confidence, and independence — building skills they'll carry for life.
Young Xplorers wind down, gather their belongings, and prepare to reconnect with their families after a full day of learning and adventure.

CAPS funding may be applied when the child, provider, and care schedule have been properly approved and authorized. Families remain responsible for any parent fees or balances not covered by their CAPS scholarship. Enrollment at YLC does not guarantee CAPS eligibility or approval.
